What we collect
When you sign up, we store your name and email address. When you check in at a pandal, we store which pandal, when, and — if you attach one — a photo. If you add a new pandal, we store the details you submit (name, area, address, coordinates, and an optional photo and link). If you buy merch, Razorpay processes the payment and we store the purchase record (item, amount, timestamp) needed to deliver it and account for the beach clean-up donation.
How your account works
There's no password. Signing up sets a signed cookie on your device that identifies your account — that cookie is how the app recognizes you on future visits. It's used only for that purpose, never for tracking or advertising, and you can clear it any time by logging out.
What's public
Your name and hop count are visible on the leaderboard to anyone using the app — that leaderboard is the point of the app. Your email is never shown to other users. A check-in photo, if you add one, is visible to you on that pandal's page; a pandal-submission photo is visible to everyone since it's photographing a public event, not you.
Who we share data with
We don't sell your data or share it for advertising. Processors that handle it on our behalf, strictly to run the app: Supabase (database and photo storage), Razorpay (payments), Resend (delivering your merch downloads by email), and Vercel (hosting). Each only sees what it needs to do its job.
Cookies
We use one cookie — the signed session cookie described above — which is strictly necessary for the app to work and isn't used for tracking. We don't run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, so there's nothing here that requires a cookie consent banner.
Your choices
You can log out at any time to clear your session. To have your account and data deleted, reach out via thelalabs.in and we'll remove it, aside from records we're required to keep for tax or payment compliance.
Changes
If this policy changes in a material way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
